Insufficient acceleration of the engine and smoky emissions

▲ The high-pressure injector in the high-pressure common rail system needs to accurately control the injection pressure, injection time and injection volume, and the work of the injector are more delicate. If there is a problem with the oil-water separator, water and impurities in the diesel will wear on the plunger parts in the injector and cause strain until the injector is stuck.

▲ Injector damage will cause the engine to accelerate unstable or weak acceleration, or emit black smoke, etc. In severe cases, the engine will be directly damaged.

Carbon deposit

If the oil-water separator is damaged, the water and impurities in diesel will pass through the filter device, and then accumulate in the intake valve, intake port, and cylinder, forming hard carbon deposits over time, which will affect the engine's work, and in serious cases will cause the engine destruction.


Damage to the oil-water separator will cause carbon deposits in the valve, and the carbon deposits in the valve will cause engine startup difficulties, idling instability, poor acceleration, sudden refueling and tempering, excessive exhaust gas standards, increased fuel consumption and other abnormal phenomena, which may cause engine damage.

The engine emits white smoke

Damage to the oil-water separator will cause the engine to emit white smoke because the moisture in the fuel will turn into water vapor when burning, which will cause white smoke.


The water vapor in the white smoke will damage the high-pressure fuel injection nozzle, cause insufficient engine power, and cause a sudden stop. In severe cases, the engine will be directly damaged.


2. How to maintain the oil-water separator?

1. Periodic drainage

The water in the oil-water separator must be checked every day. If there is more water, it must be drained in time. It is possible that some of the newcomers are slightly new to the oil-water separator. In general, when you observe that the buoy in the oil-water separator is in the middle position, you need to drain the water. There are bolts at the bottom.


After draining the water in the oil-water separator, be sure to remember to perform the filling operation of the filling pump until the fuel pump is full.

2.Replace the filter element

The filter element of the oil-water separator also has a certain service life. Fill with normal, quality-assured fuel, and everyone can change the filter element once every 500 hours. If the quality of the fuel that is usually filled is slightly worse, it needs to be replaced in advance as appropriate.


In order to ensure the filtering effect of the oil-water separator, it is recommended that you replace the filter element with better quality, and the price is not expensive. Generally, it is about 100 yuan. A good filter element's filtering effect and accuracy on impurities and moisture are guaranteed.
